Michael+Patrick make plays, performances, and videos about themselves and their mutual obsessions. Their pieces draw on a wide range of material like modern drama, reality television, American method acting, technology, dance, and original text. Underlying the duo’s work is a constant investigation into theatrical form––how to subvert and manipulate it––and theater’s relationship to the other media that dominates our lives: television, Instagram, FaceTime, and Hollywood movies.

Michael+Patrick began making work together when they crossed paths at the Yale School of Drama in 2016. Patrick studied with Mary Overlie and has collaborated with artists John Jesurun, Lear deBessonet, Todd Almond, and Punchdrunk at venues such as Judson, Incubator Arts, The Brick, and more. Michael makes and supports work in theater and dance with artists such as Emma Weinstein, Tina Satter/Half Straddle, and Jeremy O. Harris, and has worked with institutions like LMCC, The Kitchen, and New York Theater Workshop.
